“BAKED BANANAS” IS IN:
NEXT RECIPE:  BANANA CUSTARD PUDDING

BAKED BANANAS 
1 large banana
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon (a few drops) vanilla or rum
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Ingredients are for 1 serving. Prepare 1 serving for each person.

Peel the banana (s), cut into halves lengthwise, and place in a baking dish.

Mix the melted butter, sugar, water, and lemon juice together; pour half of the mixture over the bananas and place in oven.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, using remaining mixture for basting. If bananas are not lightly browned, they may optionally be run under the broiler for a minute at this point.

Serve topped with vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate hot sauce, or as-is, while still warm from the oven.

This is a very nice recipe. If anyone doesn't like it quite so sweet, a ripe plantain would do the trick. They also don't get quite as mushy.

This recipe was great but what made it even better was pairing it with cinnamon graham crackers and vanilla ice cream! Yummy!
