APPLE DUMP CAKE
2 cans apple pie filling 1 yellow box cake mix 2 sticks butter In a 9 x 13 inch oblong cake pan (ungreased), put in 2 cans of apple pie filling. Dump yellow cake mix on top of pie filling, then slice butter into pats and place evenly on top of cake mix. Place in a preheated 350°F oven for 50 minutes or longer for desired brownness.

I made this a while back but used one can apple filling and one can whole berry cranberry sauce. I also used a spice cake mix instead of the yellow. Sprinkle the top with chopped pecans is a good option too. I was a big hit at a covered dish dinner.

I sprinkled the pie filling with some brown sugar. Also, found that a whole box of cake mix was too much and after 50 minutes it was still "soggy" in the middle. Next time I'll use 1/2 box and save the rest for later.
