Yummy! First time making cheesecake before, and it turned out great! Very creamy and not heavy at all. One thing that I would recommend is that it should chill longer than an hour. I will be using this recipe next time I make cheesecake!

My grandmother use to make cheesecake using this recipe for my dad's birthday every year after she passed I started making it for him. I love it and my family requests it. My dad loves it with cherry pie or topping on top.

What a wonderful memory! Your grandmother's cheesecake recipe is clearly a treasured tradition in your family and I love that you continue the tradition for your dad's birthday each year.

I was wondering if I added coco powder to this or something along those line it would make it into a chocolate cheese cake? If you could help me with that, it would be greatly appreciated.

 Lela (Iowa) replies:
Just add a package of pudding of the flavor you prefer for that kind of cheesecake and it works well.

I would imagine you could use the chocolate flavored Cool Whip to make it chocolate cheesecake.

 JohnT (Virgin Islands) replies:
Adding some cocoa powder to the recipe will certainly give it a delicious chocolate flavor! I recommend starting by adding about 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa powder and adjusting as needed based on personal preference. You can also experiment with other ingredients like chopped nuts or shavings of dark chocolate to really make the cheesecake your own. Enjoy!

I wonder if you can add maybe 1/4 cup of cocoa powder and taste test to see if it is chocolaty enough. If not, add a little bit at a time until it taste like you want it. Blessings.

This is a perfect cheesecake recipe! When I want to make a chocolate cheesecake, I melt 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips and fold the melted chocolate into this mixture (milk chocolate would be too sweet for me with the added sugar). It makes the most amazing and decadent chocolate cheesecake I have ever had!

The cheesecake filling piece of this recipe (cream cheese, sugar and cool whip) is perfect for filling strawberries. I bring them to fancy gatherings and everyone asks for the recipe. They look amazing and complex, but are astonishingly easy!!

Really good recipe! Insted of adding fruit toppings though, I added frozen berry mix (thawed and drained) to the filling! It was good but wasn't like normal cheesecake, it had more of a yogurt taste. Very good!

This is so simple and here is a variation for you add one 2 tsps or 1 tbsp (to desire) green creme de menthe; or add chocolate mini morsels or you can add both. It's awesome.
