MOM'S LOADED HAMBURGER CASSEROLE
This is my mom's recipe passed down from one to the other. We have this twice a week.

2 lb. ground beef (lean)
4-5 large potatoes, sliced like for scalloped potatoes
3 large onions, sliced thin
2-3 large carrots, sliced thin
2 (4 oz. ea.) cans sliced mushrooms, reserve juice
1 ea. red bell pepper, green pepper and yellow pepper, seeded and diced fine
4 or 5 sticks celery, diced
3 large cans diced tomatoes with herbs
1 large can Hunt's Manwich (Sloppy Joe sauce)
salt and pepper, to taste
a sprinkle of paprika and chili powder
2 drops Tabasco sauce

Use a large roasting pan, and layer lean ground beef on bottom of pan. Evenly layer vegetables as listed: Potatoes, onions, carrots, mushrooms, green, red and yellow peppers, celery, tomatoes, Manwich sauce, salt and pepper, paprika, chili powder and 2 drops of Tabasco sauce. Do this until everything has been used. Then add your reserved juice from mushrooms. May need to add a little water, if needed.

Cover and bake at 350°F until all vegetables are tender when tested by a fork. Uncover and bake another 10 minutes.

Serve with garlic toast or garlic bread. Very good with dinner rolls or milk rolls. Serve with cooked rice, if desired.
