KAHALA'S FLUFFY CHOCOLATE
FROSTING

You may have to make extra. Kids love it on "themselves", cake, or anything else. I like the ease and lack of trouble in preparation.

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, dark looks best
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup whole milk (or more)
1 tbsp. vanilla or 2 tsp. your favorite extract
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix butter, cocoa powder, and sugar in medium mixing bowl. Slowly add milk and extract. Add more milk a tablespoon at a time until desired texture and volume is reached.

Kahala's Fluffy Chocolate Frosting

You really do not need any milk. I found that as long as you keep mixing the butter and the rest of the stuff together you get the perfect frosting. If you really want it a little more liquidy then add some milk but make sure its warm and you only need very little. Otherwise it tastes great!

I have made it with and without milk. To give it an extra flavor, Instead of milk use a flavored coffee creamer. I have used, chocolate cream, caramel macchiato, and any flavor you have on hand. It gives it a rich taste.

Amazing! I couldn't believe how good this was. I used a few drops of almond milk instead of regular. I will use this again and again!

Wonderful. I made this jointly with a four year old and by hand (no mixer). It was easy and as good as any frosting I have made.

This is by far the best frosting recipe ever!!! It's got a great workable consistency, a rich chocolatey flavor, and makes enough to frost a cake easily. I have made dozens of chocolate frostings, and this is my absolute favorite. PS - I made mine by hand (no mixer) and it was a cinch!

Good consistency but I found it just a tad too sugary, so I added some melted unsweetened chocolate.

Perfect! Make a cake with the grandkids and used this easy recipe. Mixed the butter, cocoa, and sugar by hand. Added the liquid a little at a time with the handheld Mixmaster on high for about 2 minutes. I don't eat a lot of chocolate, so to me this had a great cocoa flavor. And it sure was fluffy. Over the years I've put together my favorite recipes. This is the #1 chocolate frosting. Thanks!

Not to be mean but there was nothing "fluffy" about this frosting. it was good and all but it was more like a cake batter. -___-

I didn't even have the right amounts of all the ingredients... I had almost a stick of butter, about 2 cups of powdered sugar, but enough vanilla, milk, and salt... So I combined all that I had and it's AMAZING! I don't even like chocolate, but I want to eat the entire bowl! I'm making heart shaped red velvet cupcakes for Mother's day~ I needed a frosting that would look nice~ Ooh, and I added a few spoonfuls of sprinkles, and it's seriously fantastic!
