CANNED SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
1/2 bu. tomatoes
3 lbs. onions
2 sweet peppers
3 hot peppers
2 cloves garlic
1 pt. cooking oil
1 1/2 c. sugar (optional)
1/2 c. salt
2 tbsp. oregano
2 tbsp. basil
4 lg. or 8 sm. cans tomato paste

Wash and quarter tomatoes; cook until mushy, then put through sieve. Put in large heavy kettle. Chop onions, peppers and garlic. Add with remaining ingredients to tomatoes. Cook for 1 1/2 hours or until thick. Can. Makes 12 quarts.
