CARAMEL-APPLE BREAD PUDDING | |
28 caramels 1/4 c. water 4 c. bread crumbs 4 c. peeled apple slices 5 eggs 2 c. milk 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cinnamon Melt caramels over low heat with the water, stirring constantly. Place bread crumbs in greased baking pan, 11 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches. Top with the sliced apples. Combine eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon. Pour over apples, cover with caramel sauce. Place in large pan with 1/2 inch of water in pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until knife inserted between center and outside edge comes out clean. Serve hot or cold. Serves 8-10. |
