AUNT BEA'S BLUEBERRY OR APPLE
CAKE
 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. Crisco
1 c. milk
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sliced apples or blueberries

1. Beat in the sugar, Crisco, milk and egg in a cake mixer for 2 minutes.

2. Sift 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour with 2 teaspoons baking powder and add to the first mixture.

3. Add 2 cups of sliced apples or blueberries to the cake mixture.

4. Make a sweet sauce to top the cake by adding 1/2 cup of flour with 1/2 cup of sugar mixed with 2 tablespoons of butter. Boil water and add gradually to thicken. Stir so that the sauce will not be lumpy.

5. Bake at 325 degrees until the cake rises.
