Tuna Patties

You can have LOTS of fun with this. I drain the tuna and smash it first, and then add whatever white wine I might be drinking in its place. Next, I add creamy dijon instead of plain mustard. Panko bread crumbs are the best. All of this can be extremely low sodium, too! Mixed with the egg and coated with more panko bread crumbs. Let them sit for a few minutes to "gel" as it were. Once in the pan (I use olive oil and butter) they brown nicely after 3 to 4 minutes. Before I turn them, I sprinkle them with Tabasco sauce. Flip, brown, wonderful!

This recipe is amazing! I definitely recommend it! I followed the recipe except for that i added some oregano and minced, dried garlic and used olive oil to fry them in. They tasted incredible! Plain, they tasted like meatballs and with ketchup they tasted like hamburgers! I will absolutely be making these in the future!

I drained the tuna, used 9 crushed saltines, a 1/4 cup of mayo and no mustard, 1/2 jalapeno pepper, and 1/2 chopped onion. Really Good!

Love Keith's idea of the wine. My kind of cook. You can definitely have fun. I did the recipe once as stated while drinking the wine. Next time added crushed potato chips and drained the tuna and replaced liquid with the wine. This is a winner for quick gourmet.

Great Recipe. I added shredded cheese, salt, pepper and adobo and used panko crumbs. Took about 10 minutes total, including hands-on time. For me, one can of tuna made 3 patties - 2 medium and one large. Easy, cheap and delicious meal. I served it with brown rice and peas.

For an even more low cal alternative, just use the egg white and only roll them in the bread crumbs instead of mixing some in, gives them the crunchy outside while keeping the inside moist, if you need condiments I suggest a small amount of fat free mayo with dill weed or even better, some Greek yogurt (more protein) with dill weed.

This is delicious and really easy. You can switch the ingredients and use whatever spices and condiments you have laying around. My ten-year old made these by herself.

Delicious and simple. Made as directed (accidentally forgot the mustard) and used 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice instead of tuna liquid. Put in fridge for a few minutes, then formed 4 small patties and browned in olive oil and butter. YUM - nice and crispy. Easy to change up with garlic and onion powder, cajun seasoning, etc. Thanks for great recipe!

Great recipe. My twist was adding Heinz 57 sauce, soy sauce, sliced apples, bacon bits and bread crumbs. It was so good.
