Started using this recipe 24 yrs ago, my son was allergic to eggs but loved bananas. It's the best, sweet banana bread ever, and the easiest.

I've made this for over 20 yrs after my oldest child begged me to make after seeing it in a Sesame Street book. Somehow this year I misplaced it. So, so thankful to have found it reprinted here! You saved Christmas, cooks.com!
It's the best darn banana bread recipe I've found and people always ask me for it.

I love this banana bread. I've entered and won 1st place different food competitions as a kid with this recipe. I actually thought it was my mom's recipe the whole time. Till recently I asked her for her recipe for the banana bread and she told me she got it out of my sesame street book. I was shocked but either way it's still the best and I've tasted soo many that don't come close. So glad I could find it on this site. I would have forever craved and looked for it if not. Love love it!!! And now I'll b able to pass it down the family as well :-)

My family has used this recipe since we bought the Sesame Street book series when I was little (probably 30 years ago)! I love that it uses healthier ingredients that I can find organically, and my kids can make it independently except for handling the oven!

I originally got this from the book as well. I've been making it since i was a kid and I'm now spreading it to my new family. This is the only banana bread recipe I ever use. Hands down, BEST EVER. I've been experimenting with muffins also! Probably because they take less time and I'm impatient waiting for the deliciousness. :)

I remember making Big Bird's Banana Cake as a child and my family loved it. I'll be making this as soon as I get banana's and wholegrain gluten-free flour.

I remember getting this in my Sesame Street Magazine as a kid, way back in the late 1970s. It is still the best banana bread recipe ever!

This is amazing! My 30-year-old son just asked me if I still had the Sesame Street book this recipe was in. I save everything, but I remember how beat up that book was, and I guess I threw it out in the last few years. I was ready to cry I felt so bad. That banana bread meant more to my son than I knew, and now he wants to make it with his own kids! I never really expected to find it on the internet; was I surprised, but so grateful it's here! We spent 5 years in Alaska, and baking and eating the best banana bread he's ever had was one of those really nice memories my son has of his childhood. His family moved there last year, and he's been thinking about that bread. Thank you for sharing this!!

Found it in one of those books you could buy at a discount when you bought so much groceries. It became our favorite banana bread recipe for my kids. So, to carry on the tradition, my grandkids and I will make it.
