HOT CHEESE DIP 
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. onion, chopped fine
1 tsp. mayonnaise
1/2 c. tomato juice
1/2 lb. American cheese, shredded
2 cans deviled ham
dash of Tabasco sauce

In the top of a double boiler over direct heat, sauté the onion in butter. Place in double boiler over boiling water and add the remaining ingredients. Stir until the cheese is melted and all is well combined. Put into a chafing dish to keep soft while serving.
