WACKY CAKE | |
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup cocoa 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. vinegar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/3 cup oil or melted butter 1 cup cold water Preheat oven to 350°F. Into a lightly buttered 9-inch square pan, sift 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 3 tbsp. cocoa, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon baking soda. Make 3 holes in the dry ingredients. Into one hole, put 1 teaspoon vanilla, into another hole, put 5 tablespoons of melted butter or vegetable oil. In the third hole, put 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Now, pour 1 cup of cold water over all and then mix thoroughly, being sure to mix into the corners. Bake at 350°F for about 30-35 minutes, or just until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center of cake comes out clean. This recipe may be doubled and baked in a 9X13-inch pan. |
