I made this apple cake but instead of using ginger I used nutmeg and it turned out great. I added confectioner powdered sugar to make a white frosting and added coconut. Everyone loved it.

so good! I used 2 cups fresh apples like the recipe said since it is much cheaper than the expensive canned filling. I used ginger and cinnamon for that fall baking smell. I made this yesterday and my family has already finished it off for snacks and packed in lunches. i have 2 requests for more!

I just made this cake and thought it was a bit on the sweet side. Next time i think i will cut the amount of sugar in half and add cream cheese icing. Still a good recipe

Really lovely apple cake, but I also think a bit on the sweet side. I am about to make it again but will reduce the amount of sugar and I will use fresh apples from my own crop !

I make this cake all the time with fresh apples, 2 cups . Any apples will be good. I only add 2 tbsp sugar. Everyone loves it. You really don't need all that sugar adding dries raisins or cranberries makes up for the small amt of sugar. I always use walnuts.
