JEN'S CHOCOLATE CHERRY DUMP CAKE 
This recipe is so easy and so delicious... a twist on regular dump cake!

2 cans cherry pie filling (21 oz. each)
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, sliced into 12 pieces each
1 (2.25 oz.) bag chopped pecans
1/8 cup white sugar

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a 9x13-inch cake pan:

Dump the 2 cans of cherry pie filling into the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle the box of chocolate cake mix evenly on top of that. Distribute the butter slices on top of the cake mix.

Spread the pecans evenly over the butter and cake mix. Finally, sprinkle the sugar over all.

Bake at 350°F for 30 to 45 minutes and serve warm!

This is also delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

My versions of dump cake use only 1 cube of butter, not two on top of the dry mix and I leave potlucks with a very empty dish. No need to grease the casserole dish either. You can also add 2 cans of pineapple chunks (one drained one not) stirred in with the pie filling. Also I now just stir the fruits together in the dish which saves cleaning a bowl. With or without the sugar on top is fine. (It occurs to me that using cinnamon sugar on this might be very good. I'll try it next time.)

To the people who prepare the cake mix and put it on top, have you ever turned it over and served it like Pineapple Upside Down Cake?

Love this, sometimes I replace chocolate cake mix with dark chocolate brownie mix... Makes a much richer cake... Good, easy.

I mix the melted butter with dry cake mix until it is crumbling. Then sprinkle on top of cherries and bake. Delicious!
