EASY DONUT HOLES
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
cinnamon sugar (to taste)

Mix together. Drop by teaspoon into hot oil. Fry until brown. Drain. Roll in sugar and cinnamon while still warm (it's easy to do this in a clean brown paper lunch bag). Alternately, donuts may be dusted with powdered sugar.

To make cinnamon sugar, combine 1/2 cup granulated white sugar with 1 tsp. cinnamon.

Easy Donut Holes

Tried this recipe, we enjoyed it. My children loved it. The only thing I had trouble with is making round balls with the dough as I dropped them in the oil. Is the shape of the donut holes supposed to be irregular when fried?

I love donut holes and one day I'm going to make them.

Turned out great!! Easy to mix, fry, and clean up afterwards. I think I might make the batter a bit sweeter by adding more vanilla.....

I really like how easy this recipe is. Word of caution: if you don't flour your hands well to roll these into small balls, they will totally stick to your hands and come out a mess.

They came out really well. Make sure your hands are well floured or its impossible to roll them. Make the balls small or it won't cook all the way through. This recipe makes alot, like 2-3 dozen.

Read the recipe!! It says drop by teaspoonful! You don't have to make balls! They will all be different - it doesn't matter - they are a bit crunchy and great this way. I put them in a small bag of sugar with and without cinnamon for two kinds and gently shake.

I really love this recipe, all the things you need were right in the kitchen cabinet without even have to make a store run. My younger siblings love it! But I think I added a little more milk then I needed but it still turned out great, just used a bigger spoon and drop the dough right in the grease.

LOVE....LOVE....LOVE.... This is the easiest recipe and it is quick to make!!! Double the recipe and add a tad more sugar to make a little sweeter. I also make several differnt toppings because the double recipe yields much more. Also try melting chocolate chips and roll the doughnut holes to coat(roll in sprinkles). Powered sugar is also a great variation. Enjoy!!

I made this recipe, but I cut mine in half. I thought it needed more salt to bring out the nutty flavour of the flour. I also added more vanilla, as another reviewer mentioned to try. It was really neat to watch them turn over on their own. It was the first time I'd made donuts. Also, I used two spoons, one to scoop up the dough and the other scrape it into the fryer. This worked perfectly! My family "Mmmm'ed" and "awed" as they ate these up! Thanks for this great recipe!

Use a ice cream scoop for doughnut holes, they will drop right into the oil for you.

Thank you very much for posting this recipe, it's easy to prepare and very delicious! By the way it worked without cinnamon.

This recipe was very good taste wise, but the end result was more reminiscent of funnel cakes as opposed to donuts. My family and I scrapped the idea of making doughnut holes after the first 'batch', transferred the batter to a ziploc baggy, cut the corner and squeezed fun designs into the deep fryer before coating with powdered sugar and voila! Bon Apetit! :)

Made this, the only thing I would change is maybe add cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough before frying them. GREAT !!!

Try some powdered sugar! It makes it 2x better!

Used a 1 tsp. melon ball maker and worked out great. Glazed them instead of dipping in sugar. Excellent. Made about 3 dozen which turned out great for the sweet lovers in my house!

For those people who cannot have fried foods, spray a mini muffin pan with oil and bake the donut holes. Very good.
