W. A.'S BANANA SALAD | |
2 to 3 bananas, sliced DRESSING: 1 egg 1 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. vinegar Dash of salt Beat egg thoroughly. Add salt, sugar, vinegar and cook over low heat, stirring constantly. After mixture begins to thicken add butter, stirring until melted. Pour into bowl and after it cools, add 1 tablespoon whipping cream (half and half will do). Pour over bananas so that each one is covered. Sprinkle with finely chopped nuts if desired. Dressing may be used on other fruit salads. Serves 3 to 4. |
