THREE LAYER CAKE 
3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
4 eggs, separated
1/2 lb. butter
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Sift flour, salt and baking powder 3 times. Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg yolks, one at a time, then add milk and flour slowly. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Add vanilla. Pour into 3 lightly floured greased 9-inch cake pans. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
