HARD BOILED EGGS
Eggs
Cold water

Oh yes, I can hear you saying anyone can boil eggs! But, do the yellows turn green?

Eggs, as many as you like. Punch a hole in large end of each egg with a punch pin or thumb tack. Cover eggs with cold water. Heat to a boil, uncovered. Do not boil. Remove from heat and cover for 15 minutes, no more. Run cold water over eggs to cool. Crack shells and peel. The yellows do not turn green.

Great directions... EXCEPT... do you have any idea how difficult it is to punch a hole in eggs from your own chickens? Their shells are almost impenetrable! So I followed all the other instructions and they came out great. Thanks!

This recipe is so good, it should've been kept a family secret. Seriously. People should have to risk their lives to break into a bank vault to steal the only existing copy of this recipe... that should be the only way to earn the right to read this recipe. It's that freakin' good.

I followed the directions to a "T" and ruined one dozen Eggland's Best large eggs! The yolks were not sufficiently cooked to be used for deviled eggs. I brought the eggs to a rolling boil, immediately removed them, covered them for fifteen minutes, cooled them with cold water, and then peeled them. What a disappointment. It might have been a happier ending if I had let them boil for a minute or two rather than removing them immediately after the rolling boil. Eleven reviews said differently - I would love to know where I failed. Obviously, I did something wrong!
