SAUSAGE, PEPPERS AND PASTA | |
2 lbs. hot or mild Italian sausage, cut into 2 inch chunks 2 c. chopped onions 1 1/2 c. red peppers 1 1/2 c. green peppers 1 c. marinara sauce 1/4 tsp. dried basil 1 lb. pasta fully cooked and drained Put sausage in 3-quart microwave-safe bowl covered. Microwave on HIGH for 1 to 9 minutes, stirring twice. Should be firm to the touch when done. Drain well. Stir in onions, peppers, sauce and basil; cover and microwave on high 8-10 minutes, stirring once until onions and peppers are tender. Stir some cooked sauce into pasta to moisten and color. Serve sausage pepper mixture over pasta. Serves 6. |
