MONKEY BREAD - BEST EVER
24 Frozen Rhodes Rolls (dinner rolls)
1 cup brown sugar
1 box butterscotch cook & serve dry pudding mix not instant
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
pecans or walnuts, chopped, optional

Right before going to bed, or 10 pm, sprinkle pecans or walnuts into a greased Bundt pan, (I use Pam cooking spray), then put 24 frozen Rhodes Rolls into pan. Mix brown sugar and dry pudding mix together and sprinkle over frozen rolls. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top of that.

Melt butter and slowly pour over rolls in Bundt pan, trying to cover all of the sugar. Leave on counter overnight and when you get up, the rolls should have risen nicely and you will put Bundt pan on a cookie sheet in a preheated 350°F oven and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven and pour rolls upside down onto a large platter. Serve warm.

These are extremely easy to make and very delicious. And your house will smell wonderful... These are a family favorite.

Excellent taste! Incredibly easy to make. Make sure that you place a tray under the Bundt pan in the oven, as the butter and brown sugar may run over. I highly recommend this recipe.

I used to make this recipe all the time when my son was little, and we all loved it so much. Kinda forgot about it over time. Now, my son is in the military and his wife and daughter are staying with us for a while and I so want to make it for my Granddaughter and see if it goes over well with her. It could be something she could make for Daddy when he comes home, that reminds him of his childhood too.The butterscotch pudding separates it from all the other recipes of it's kind, and the frozen rolls make it much better than the canned biscuit recipes that are similar. It's EXTRA YUMMY! Great around the holidays.

Made this for a football party, everyone loved it and all I got back was my empty platter.

I recently found a very similar recipe in a bed and breakfast cook book. The difference is they heat (don't bring to a boil) the butter, sugar, cinnamon and pudding (they used one Tablespoon instant vanilla pudding) and added the rolls, a couple at a time, to the heated mixture to cover them before putting them in the bundt pan. The remaining mixture is poured over the rolls. Then cover the pan for the night. I've made it several times and given the recipe to everyone I know because it is so good and so easy. Everyone that has tried it has loved it.

I love this recipe and have made it for about 20 at Christmas time. I have covered the rolls at night before bedtime with pam sprayed saran wrap.. I do add a few extra pecan chips before I put the rolls in and right before the butter... say around 1/3 cup total.. yum! Then I place half pecans on the platter before plating and it has a wonderful presentation.

I have been making these every Christmas eve for the last 25 or 30 years. My mother in law gave me the recipe. It is so nice to have an effortless special treat after opening presents. Be aware that if you have a really warm kitchen, they can rise too much by 6 or 7 in the morning. In that case, I placed them frozen in the cold oven at 10pm with a large pan of ice beside them. In the morning, removed the pan of melted ice and they were perfect. It all depends on the temp in your kitchen AND how cold your freezer keeps the frozen rolls.

I made this for breakfast on Christmas morning, and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! It was so simple to make and was unbelievably delicious. My family says I have to make it every Christmas morning from here on out!!

All of my friends request that I make them this recipe for Christmas rather than a gift. Everyone that eats some of this wants the recipe or wants me to make them one..

Just use 18 buns --- won't go over the top! I covered with saran, too. Excellent!

Tasted great but the rolls were hanging over the Bundt pan. Trying again and only using 18 rolls

My first attempt at making Monkey Bread. It was awesome. My rolls rose way above the rim of the Bundt pan, but I live in Hawaii so I think maybe my kitchen is a little warmer than the norm. I will make again, but next time, I will use 1/2 cup of brown sugar and more pecans...can never have enough of those!

I love this. My mom use to make it for me over the holidays. The only thing she did different was to use 1/2 cup brown sugar and added a package of vanilla pudding in addition to the other ingredients (including the butterscotch pudding). I think I'll make some tonight!

Thanks for reminding me of this wonderful recipe.

First made this over the summer on our family vacation. Everyone loved and the kids begged for it on a second day. Now my daughter has requested this for the first day of school. Can't wait to make it and start a tradition.

Made this for a girls weekend breakfast. Everyone absolutely loved it and asked for the recipe! I've made other monkey bread recipes before but they did not include pudding. The pudding gives it a delicious taste and richness that I have not had before. This will be my "go to" recipe for monkey bread from now on!

I have been making this exact same recipe for years now. I recommend melting a little butter and dipping the roll then coating it with the sugar mixture. I layer between the nuts, butter, rolls, and sugar. Instead of pouring the butter over everything. I cut up the stick into triangles and place them intermittently amongst the rolls. While in the oven the butter melts and coats it evenly.

I too have made these for years. I leave them in the oven overnight with a delayed bake setting. Program the coffee machine and you have delicious rolls and hot coffee waiting when you come downstairs.

I used pumpkin spice pudding instead of the caramel, it was awesome!

I have made this for years and, for a change I make it savory by using a package of dry salad dressing mix (Good Seasons garlic and cheese) mixed with about 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. sprinkle it over each layer of the frozen balls. I get raves over it each time.
