MEXICAN WEDDING COOKIES
(POLVORONES)
 
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
1/2 cup powdered sugar, for dusting

Beat together butter, shortening and vanilla until creamy. Add flour and nuts.

Shape into small balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake in preheated oven, 425°F for about 10 minutes.

Dust in powdered sugar while still warm.
