1/2 c. sweet butter
1 c. Crisco
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar, butter, and Crisco. Add vanilla, flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda to mixture. Add nuts. Consistency will be like cookie dough. Roll and cut with cookie cutter. Bake in 375 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Watch carefully as they cook fast. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar, enough to cover cookie.
