PEARL'S POUND CAKE 
6 eggs, room temperature
1/2 lb. butter (room temperature)
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
3 c. non-rising Pillsbury flour or White Lily
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 c. milk (room temperature)

Cream butter and Crisco until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time and beat until creamy. Add sugar; beat until well blended. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Alternate with milk. Beat until smooth. Add lemon juice. Beat again. Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 34 minutes. Secret is in the beating. Beat well. Good luck!
