PEG BRACKEN'S SKID ROW
STROGANOFF
 
8 oz. uncooked noodles
1 beef bouillon cube
1 garlic clove, minced
1/3 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. oil
1 lb. ground chuck
2 tbsp. flour
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 sm. can mushrooms
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 c. sour cream
Chopped parsley

Cook noodles in bouillon cube and boiling water. Brown the garlic, onion, and beef in oil. Add flour, salt, paprika, and mushrooms; stir and let it cook 5 minutes. Add soup and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in sour cream, keeping heat low so it won't curdle and let it all heat through. To serve, pile noodles on platter; pile the stroganoff mix on top of the noodles and sprinkle chopped parsley around.

This is a family favorite, even modified for vegetarians. However, this recipe doesn't include Peg's sense of humor in her (from memory) "then light a cigarette and stare sullenly at the sink". No cigarettes here but I chuckle at her comment every time I make this recipe.
